Singapore
We visit Singapore often for business—but this time, we made space to slow down and take in the city’s sights (and sounds). Singapore has quietly become a world-class concert destination—seeing Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga here was not only unforgettable, but surprisingly affordable compared to other cities. Beyond the skyline, there's a rhythm to this place: efficient, lush, and always evolving.
Dream
Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore: Perfectly located with sweeping views of Marina Bay Sands and the skyline, the Ritz blends business-travel ease with resort-style comfort.
Capella Singapore, Sentosa Island: A luxurious tropical retreat just minutes from the city, complete with private plunge pools and lush greenery. (We happened to be there when Taylor Swift was in residence—yes, really.)
Dine
Fiamma: Set within Capella Singapore, this warm and stylish Italian spot by chef Mauro Colagreco serves refined Mediterranean fare in a relaxed, elegant space. Great for date night or group dinners, with wood-fired dishes, fresh pastas, and lush views of Sentosa’s greenery—perfect from breakfast through dinner.
Locanda, Little India: A charming, small Italian spot tucked in the vibrant Little India district, Locanda serves classic Italian dishes in an intimate and refined setting—a longtime favorite for authentic flavors away from the usual city buzz.
Buffets, but Elevated: Singapore does buffets right. Try the Ritz-Carlton’s Colony or Edge at Pan Pacific for global spreads that go beyond the usual.
Raffles Hotel Bar: Order a Singapore Sling in the colonial-era Long Bar, and toss your peanut shells on the floor—it’s tradition.
HighHouse: A sleek spot for lunch with panoramic views of the skyline and sea.
NOVA: Perched atop the bustling CBD, NOVA offers stylish cocktails and sweeping city views in a chic, modern setting. Perfect for after-work drinks or a night out, its vibrant vibe and panoramic skyline make it one of Singapore’s must-visit rooftop bars.
Level33: Rooftop drinks with sweeping views and their own craft brewery.
Sol & Luna: A garden-in-the-sky setting that’s perfect for a tranquil lunch above the city.
Lau Pa Sat: A classic hawker centre experience—satay, noodles, dumplings, and local energy under a historic iron canopy.
1-Altitude: One of Singapore’s most iconic rooftop bars, 1-Altitude crowns the 63rd floor of One Raffles Place with breathtaking 360-degree views of the city skyline, including Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore Flyer. Known for its vibrant atmosphere, especially at sunset, it’s a hotspot for both locals and visitors seeking a memorable evening with expertly crafted cocktails and lively vibes.
Do
Marina Bay Sands: Shop, dine, or take in the city from Spago on the rooftop—views don’t get better.
Gardens by the Bay: Stay for the nightly Supertree Grove Light Show, then explore the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest.
Walk the Grand Prix Circuit: Even off-season, the Formula 1 street track offers a unique way to see the city.
Visit the Merlion: Half lion, half fish, all icon—Singapore’s mythical mascot stands proudly where the river meets the bay.
Marina Bay Light Show: Nightly at 8 and 9pm outside Marina Bay Sands. This free, 15-minute fountain-and-light spectacle is pure city magic.
Jewel Changi Airport: Even leaving the city is an experience. Don’t miss the Rain Vortex, surrounded by gardens and shops.
